
"Share the Love"

The Weekly Read #9, "Share the Love"
I used to have a hard time being happy when I would consider all the problems there are in the world. It felt selfish to allow myself to be joyous when there are so many souls in much less fortunate situations purely because of circumstances outside of their control. However, I believe now that it would be a waste to temper my happiness because of others. Why would I deliberately dampen my own light? Why would I choose to not fully appreciate and honor the blessings in my life? I can spread more happiness when I am my joyous-self, rather than when I am a sad little shell. It would be very negligent of me to know that everything was okay, and the only reason I would be sad was because of my own privileged belief that I “needed” to be.
Sometimes, when we are the lucky ones we can feel undeserving - however, we dampen the light given to us when we don’t appreciate and share our blessings. It is our job, when we realize how fortunate we are, to bottle that light and share it as far as we can. Use that positive energy to build others up. Be a vessel for love and light. Because one day, I am sure you will find yourself in the less fortunate position, only to be brought out of the trenches of your mind by the positive light being spread by another soul. When we are lucky enough to be given the light, share it.
